The CKA drops you into a live terminal with a broken cluster and a running clock. There is no partial credit for recognizing the right answer. A task either works when the grader runs it or it does not. Most study material is still written as though the exam asks what you know. This guide is written for what it actually asks you to do.
Every part is sized to the domain it serves: Troubleshooting (30%), Cluster Architecture, Installation and Configuration (25%), Services and Networking (20%), Workloads and Scheduling (15%), and Storage (10%). Troubleshooting outweighs Storage and Workloads combined, so it gets six chapters here rather than a closing appendix.
The CKA is also open book. The Kubernetes documentation is permitted during the exam, which changes what is worth memorizing and what is worth knowing where to find. This guide is explicit about which is which, chapter by chapter, instead of asking you to memorize all of it equally.
Thirty-one chapters, 105 self-assessment checkpoints, 225 practice questions with explanations of why each wrong answer is wrong, a full-length mock exam, and a 222-term glossary. Two hours, roughly fifteen to twenty hands-on tasks, 66% to pass. Why Lodestar Ledgers exists explains the method behind the format.
